The esmi Resurfacing R0.25% retinol serum is the perfect introduction to the esmi retinol serum range especially if you’re new to retinol or have sensitive skin as it is formulated with 100% encapsulated retinol to increase skin cell turnover and stimulate collagen synthesis for a fresher, firmer complexion.
Superior to standard retinol, encapsulated retinol has enhanced bioavailability and stability. The retinol is enclosed in tiny capsules which allows the active ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin layer before being activated. This is ideal for sensitive skin as it maximises skin benefits while minimising surface dryness, irritation, and flaking associated with a traditional retinol serum.
This gentle retinol serum teams additional antioxidant-powdered ingredients with retinol to further condition, protect and strengthen the skin.
Tackling signs of ageing, carrot seed oil is a skin revitalising combination of vitamin C to stimulate collagen, vitamin A for regeneration, and the moisturising benefits of vitamin E. Smoothing lines and encouraging a fresher complexion, carrot oil helps skin recover from sun damage and trauma, including scaring.
Help shield skin from UV and pollution damage with the rich antioxidant benefits of tomato extract. This natural skin booster also aids in oil regulation which makes it a great ally for oily, congested and acne-prone skin.
Sunflower oil is packed with linoleic acid to fortify the skin barrier and encourage moisture retention to guard against dehydration. Vitamin E also helps protect skin against sun damage responsible for speeding up signs of ageing.
The Range of Skin Treat Retinol Serums
The range comes in the following variations: 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and 1.0%. This allows you to start at a lower concentration and increase your retinol % step by step when your skin is ready.
– Level 1: 0.25%.
– Level 2: 0.5%
– Level 3: 0.75%
– Level 4: 1.0%
This simple system sets you up for the best retinol serum experience with maximum effectiveness and minimal irritation.
Increasing the concentration: If you can’t see any redness, peeling, or any other sign of irritation, your skin is ready for the next level. If you have sensitive skin, you may not be able to tolerate higher than Level 1 or 2.
Caution: Retinol is not a pregnancy or breastfeeding safe ingredient.
How to use:
Every second night after cleansing, use the dropper to apply a pearl size amount of retinol serum onto skin after cleansing. Avoid the corners of your mouth, eyes, and nose (if your nose is sensitive), allow to absorb and follow with a moisturising oil.
Retinol makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight so it is crucial to use SPF30 sunscreen each morning to protect your skin from photodamage.
Can you use retinol with other Skin Treats?
We recommend using retinol on its own, then applying a Skin Treat moisturising oil or a Probiotic Skin Mylck moisturising lotion over the top if needed.
If you are using other Skin Treat serums, we recommend applying the serums on alternating nights (ie – retinol serum one night and the other Skin Treat serum the next night) or the Skin Treat serum as part of your morning routine as the retinol serum should always be applied in the evening.
